Drinking on Thursday night doesn't have to be just for lushes and sweaty kickballers. Olathe's Flying Monkey Brewery (311 North Burch) throws a beer-tasting fundraiser from 5 to 8 tonight. Proceeds will go to Marillac, Johnson County's only children's psychiatric treatment center, which provides mental-health services to boys and girls ages 6 to 17 with severe emotional and behavioral issues. Leave work early, and don't forget the donation of $10 or a bottle of wine. Remember, it's for the kids — sort of. Marillac will auction off the wine November 22 at the nonprofit's gala event, the Enchanted Evening of Cocktails & Cuisine. What's in it for you? Aside from an altruistic feeling, Flying Monkey will let you drink its four brews — amber ale, four finger stout, wheat and Mac's Beer. Corporate Café will cook up some hors d'oeuvres. Call 816-508-3280 to RSVP.
