Link Not

I am somewhat amazed at David Martin's column linking Molly Williams to Chris Koster with no further evidence than that she has played in a golf tournament with his "mentor," Joe Dandurand. I happen to play in that same golf tournament foursome and, as a former employee of Chris Koster, am no great friend. But give the devil his due. This man is a brilliant politician, and it never hurts the Democratic Party to have as many of those as it can muster. This isn't acceptable journalism, and by using the "fellow traveler" standard, you have lowered the standards of your publication. Not only would this test not hold up in a court of law — it also shouldn't be used in a newspaper that seeks journalistic credibility.

The Write Stuff

I just wanted to let Justin Kendall know that he did a wonderful job on the story of the Jesse Herd trial. The way it's written, everything! I'm just amazed.

Big Love from Texas

As a member of the Houston Chapter of Bikers Against Child Abuse, thank you for writing on a sad subject that tells the story of what we do as a group to protect and help victims of child abuse. This article made me cry as I read what "Shorty" went through and how much courage it took for her to sit there as someone else read her words in court. I send a big "Houston BACA" hug to Shorty for her courage as she moves forward in her life.

Corrections: The review of Under the Same Moon in the April 10 issue was incorrectly attributed to Robert Wilonsky. Michelle Orange wrote it. Also, the members of the hip-hop group Izmore are not, as we reported in a CD review last week, siblings.
